You have to wonder how in the world Nancy Pelosi ever became a congresswomen let alone Speaker of the House. Just a few months after a thrashing at the hands of the voters, Ms. Pelosi had the gall to say, “Elections shouldn’t matter as much as they do.”
Playing to her base, the ex-Speaker told a crowd of Massachusetts Liberals about the importance of shared values and, in a most surreal manner, that Republicans needed to moderate their views so that the space between the parties wasn’t so vast. If your head hasn’t exploded by now, just wait.
“To my Republican friends, take back your party, so that it doesn’t matter so much who wins the election because we have shared values about, again, the education of our children, the growth of our economy, how we defend our country.”
Aren’t these the same people who said that elections have consequences? Weren’t these the same folks that muscled Obamacare through the Congress without so much as a “how do you do,” to those across the aisle?
“There’s so many things at risk right now, but the fact is is that elections shouldn’t matter as much as they do, [there] should be some place on the spectrum where we respect each other’s views and all the rest. Otherwise, she said, “that can be problematic for the country, as I think we can see right now.” Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Arguably the most partisan member of the Congress, who will play the race card, rich card, poor card and pretty much any scare tactic in the books, had the audacity to talk about respecting each other’s views.
Mr. Obama himself told the GOP leaders “elections have consequences,” and, in case there was any doubt, “I won.” So much for Liberal respect for the views of others.
In Ms. Pelosi’s own words during the debate on the non-stimulus bill, “Yes, we wrote the bill. Yes, we won the election.”
If not for my complete lack of respect for this political hack, I would probably be coating my laptop screen with the remnants of last night’s dinner. Ms. Pelosi is the poster child of the ugliest, most unproductive and partisan politics of the last century. This multi-millionaire, who is more interested in her radical left-wing, socialists views than the wishes of the American public, wouldn’t know American values if they bit her on her Botox bathed nose. If she were to resign today, the bitter taste left in the mouth of citizens would remain for decades to come.
Nancy Pelosi is the King George III of our time. George ignored the will of the citizens of the 13 original colonies and he lost the most valuable property in the British Commonwealth. Much the same Queen Pelosi ignored the American public’s concern of her tax and spend ways, losing the House in the most lopsided congressional election in more than 70 years. It’s clear she’s learned nothing. Despite her “do as I say, not as I do” attitude, she will be hearing more from the citizens of this country because elections do indeed have consequences.
